This is a structured experiential Mandarin Program where you enjoy Chinese food and learn:

• Chinese dining culture and etiquette
• Dialogues relating to ordering and serving food and drinks in Mandarin
• Names of dishes and beverages in Mandarin specific to the cuisine and restaurant
• Dialogues relating to food preferences
• Social conversations and hot topic discussions in Mandarin

Join the revolutionary new Mandarin program 'ChineseWize' where you learn in the real world rather than a simulation environment that is the traditional classroom. In the 'Social Mandarin Program: Dining' stream, you will learn Mandarin and Chinese culture relating to dining in a real restaurant setting. You will be ordering food, making social conversations and getting the bill etc in Mandarin. We will have regular sessions at different Chinese restaurants.

These real-life experiential classes are designed to accelerate your mastery of Chinese conversational skills and cultural savviness. Suitable for beginners to intermediate learners - you will learn according to your level.

The program including prior reading materials is valued at $80/person. The first hour is facilitated by an experienced Mandarin teacher. The second hour is free practice.

Set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon Ouiser ("I'm not crazy, I've just been in a bad mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town) is about to marry a "good ole boy."

Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realisation of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvellously amiable company in good times and bad.

The audience joins Sophie as she falls in and out of love, struggles with power-plays in her new job, and embarks on a journey of spiritual (un)enlightenment. This production is the World Premiere of November Spawned a Monster, the one-man play beautifully interwoven with the music of Morrissey and The Smiths.
Shocked out of his post-adolescence self-obsession by the death of a close friend, William, a 20 something Melburnian, attempts to make his way in an unfamiliar world. Lost and lonely, he decides to embark on a pilgrimage to Manchester, the birthplace of his idol Morrissey and the band that shaped his life, The Smiths.
In order to finance his trip William takes a job working as a support worker for Patrice, a dynamic, passionate woman who happens to be confined to a wheel chair due to cerebral palsy. Much to his surprise William discovers Patrice is a fellow Morrissey/Smiths tragic and a delicate bond begins to grow. William is confronted by some very hard choices as he discovers that real love is much deeper than physical attraction and the true meaning of friendship.

With classic Morrissey and The Smiths songs performed live throughout the play, by the astoundingly talented James Wright, November Spawned a Monster is a touching, funny and unlikely love story about the need to learn life’s lessons, before it’s too late.
