Unique experiential learning of Mandarin & Chinese culture
This is a structured experiential Mandarin Program where you enjoy playing drinking games and learn:

• Mandarin vocab and sentences for a given topic. The topic is practical and relates to everyday life. Every session will have a different topic. Sample topics include food, drinks, numbers, countries, colours, vehicles, people, sports, hobbies etc.

• How to play drinking games favoured by the Chinese

• The Chinese culture of drinking and playing drinking games

• Mandarin dialogues for playing drinking games

• Mandarin dialogues for ordering food and drinks

• Social conversations in Mandarin

Join the revolutionary new Mandarin program 'ChineseWize' where you learn in the real world rather than a simulation environment that is the traditional classroom. In the 'Social Mandarin Program: entertainment' stream, you will learn Mandarin and Chinese culture relating to entertainment such as karaoke, Mahjong, drinking games, board games, parties etc. as well as social conversations that can be used in any setting. We will have regular sessions of various forms of entertainment.

The program including prior reading materials is valued at $80. The first hour is facilitated by an experienced Mandarin teacher. The second hour is free practice.

It’s a fascinator-worthy Cup Comedy Gala with the best comedians in the business and some top rising stars.

Your Headliner for the evening is comedy veteran Darren Sanders, one of the most established and hard working pro comics, Emcees and presenters on the scene. Darren has done it all; been a radio star; shaped community television; owned an iconic comedy club; played cruise ships and clubs all over the world; had the very last line in a hit film (‘Any Questions For Ben?’) and currently is in the third season of his own tonight show ‘The Darren Sanders Show’ about to start on GO.

Your Emcee, is Aussie mirth-master Jeremy Keast - comic, Emcee, writer, singer, songwriter, guitar player, beer drinker and top bloke. His TV and DVD credits include ‘I Rock’ and ‘Underground Comedy’. Jeremy likes asking the big questions, like: Is ‘Wuthering Heights’ the worst song ever written? Sharn McNeill has been challenged by an aggressive Motor Neuron Disease known as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
Diagnosed only 12 months ago, this debilitating disease has altered almost every aspect of her life. Her progressing physical deterioration, limits this young woman from attending basic daily tasks. However, this amazing lady has captivated millions of people this past year with a determination and attitude that astounds all who cross her path.

If you are yet to meet her, this is your chance to be inspired!

Shining4Sharn has been set up by her close friends and family to give her the best fighting chance at finding a cure. To give Sharn all of the support she needs, it means we have to act fast and aim high, with a goal of raising as much global awareness and required funds to help with exploring any possible trial treatments and ongoing therapies.

Sharn’s vision is also to help others challenged by similar situations to her own and so, it is with a team approach that Shining4Sharn and you (as the ‘Sharny Army’) can come together and collectively raise awareness and funds for an incredible cause.

Set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon Ouiser ("I'm not crazy, I've just been in a bad mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town) is about to marry a "good ole boy."

Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realisation of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvellously amiable company in good times and bad.
