Learn Social Mandarin Over Speed Network...

Event Date: 25/09/2014, 07:30 pm

Unique experiential learning of Mandarin and Chinese culture
This is a structured experiential Mandarin Program where you enjoy networking with like minded people and learn:

• Social dialogues in Mandarin including asking for name, occupation, hobbies, age, nationality etc.
• The Chinese culture of networking and socialising
• Functional dialogues in Mandarin including the purchase of beverage and food

Join the revolutionary new Mandarin program 'ChineseWize' where you learn in the real world rather than a simulation environment that is the traditional classroom. In the 'Social Mandarin Program: Speed Networking' stream, you will practice all the essential social dialogues to get to know people in speed networking style - every 10 min or so you will swap partners to chat. We will have these speed networking sessions in bars, cafes, teahouses or wherever we fancy.

These real-life experiential classes are designed to accelerate your mastery of Chinese conversational skills and cultural savviness. Suitable for beginners to intermediate learners - you will learn according to your level.

The program including prior reading materials is valued at $80/person. The first hour is facilitated by an experienced Mandarin teacher. The second hour is free practice.

Sold-out shows and rave reviews - not to be missed!
Songs, stories and images from the Heroic Age:

Desperately Young At Heart - Quick Tix

Event Date: 23/09/2014, 06:00 pm

Outrageously original musical comedy cabaret
Tickets to the Gala Opening Night!

The imposing frame of 6 foot 6 inch operatic baritone Robert Hofmann will channel (or is that Chanel?)
a spectacular array of hilarious characters – most of them in frocks… and some in 4 inch heels.
The show is DESPARATELY YOUNG AT HEART, and it makes its
Sydney premiere after an award-winning season at Perth Fringe World.

The hit show features (among other colourful characters) an Irish nun, a ‘gifted’ church musician
and a sexually-frustrated German relationship counsellor: all young at heart, all desperate…
and all comic alter egos of singer Robert Hofmann in slick quick-change costumes by Cherie Hewson.
Plus the magic fingers of Tommaso Pollio at the piano with direction by the legendary Stuart Maunder.

Winner of the Cabaret Award WA at Perth Fringe World, Hofmann’s sensational tour-de-force plays at New Theatre, Newtown from Tues 23 to Sat 27 September (before heading to Melbourne Fringe).
