From Two Peas, the team behind the Old 505's inaugural subscription season production, We're Bastards, comes Jennifer Forever - a new play by Tara Clark and starring Dominic McDonald and Gemma Scoble.

MAN: I want to ask you a question. Come here.
GIRL: That's not a question, now is it?
MAN: The question will come, when you get here.

He's a good man; he just has bad habits.
Or are they even bad to begin with? Perhaps society just has its definitions all wrong.

She doesn't like to make assumptions. She's exactly what he needs, but she can't go on being that forever.
Where exactly is the line between good and bad? And who draws those lines to begin with?

Jennifer Forever plays from September 17 - 28, Wednesday to Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm.

Jean-Paul Sartre is a Nobel Prize winner in Literature. Sartre’s existential classic, No Exit is cleverly written with humor and wit, about three strangers crossing paths in the afterlife while awaiting their ultimate fate. We explore the private conversations and confessions of the characters locked together for eternity. “L’enfer, c’est les autres”, “Hell is other people”.

Two women and one man are locked up together for eternity in one hideous room in hell. The windows are bricked up; there are no mirrors; the electric lights can never be turned off; and there is no exit. The irony of this hell is that its torture is not of the rack and fire, but of the burning humiliation of each soul as it is stripped of its pretenses by the cruel curiosity of the damned. Here the soul is shorn of secrecy, and even the blackest deeds are mercilessly exposed to the fierce light of hell. It is an eternal torment.

No Exit was published in 1944 and was also adapted for television in 1964 by the BBC, starring Harold Pinter and again in 1985 starring Omar Sharif.

The Vegetable Plot grew from a small seed in the imagination of singer-songwriter and musical comedian
Luke Escombe back in 2007. Now that seed has sprouted into a musical feast:
a 12-piece live band featuring some of Sydney’s best loved singers and musicians,
including Escombe and singers Hannah Crofts, Georgia Mooney, Katie Wighton and Elana Stone

Divergence Jazz Orchestra

Led by composer Jenna Cave and trombonist Paul Weber, Divergence Jazz Orchestra is made up of 18 of Sydney’s most accomplished young jazz musicians. They perform, promote and record new music by Jenna Cave and other Australian composers. Their 2013 debut album The Opening Statement has been highly praised, bringing the orchestra and the compositions of Cave national recognition. Featured regularly on ABC Jazz, it was listed by two ABC presenters as a top Australian jazz release of 2013, and was reviewed with four stars by John McBeath in The Australian.

At this upcoming performance on September 17th, Divergence Jazz Orchestra will be presenting music by award-winning composer and saxophonist Rafael Karlen (Brisbane), alongside some new works by band members. Rafael will be joining Divergence off the back of his recent album launch and commissioned composition premiere at the 2014 Brisbane International Jazz Festival.

Newcomers Juno Temple and Jeremy Piven join the all-star cast including Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and Jaime King who will be making their return to SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR.

Direct from the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, CJ Delling’s hilarious show “Reality Bandit” makes its Sydney debut at the Den (in the Chippendale Hotel) as part of Sydney Fringe 2014.

German-born Sydney based comedian CJ has played comedy clubs in Europe, Scotland, Canada and the US… and even does a weekly German language satirical news show on SBS Radio.

CJ planned to visit Australia for 6 months study, but 10 years later (including 6 years as a volunteer surf lifesaver at Bondi Beach) and she’s still here!

“I’ve swapped the sun and the surf for the bright stage footlights – thankfully I don’t have to apply sunscreen to hairy backs anymore!”

After her previous hit shows “Life is Wunderbar (individual results may vary)” and “Tomorrow’s Weather and other predictive errors”, Reality Bandit is set to win your heart.

If you are looking for a show you could take your mum, first date or dentist to, then look no further! CJ’s quirky, charming and cheerful show is an expedition into our relationship with reality, truth, biases – and other problems we didn’t even know we had.

“Real life would be more like our Facebook status updates, if only we weren’t distracted all the time,” says CJ. She likes to point out what is ridiculous in our world - and peppers it with personal stories.

“But just because I’m holding the microphone doesn’t mean I have it all figured out. I’m easily distracted too… look at my tweets!”

6 piece funk band from Sydney
Sydney funk band JUNK emerge deep from the funk cave this Spring at Foundry616.

JUNK are a 6 piece funk band from Sydney. Since 2009, JUNK have been putting a contemporary spin on funk, RnB and hip-hop. With a bangin’ brass section and sexy as hell vocals, JUNK are ready to completely seduce audiences with their grooves.

2013 was a huge year - JUNK's 2nd EP was launched at the Vanguard to a sold-out crowd. With this EP the band adopted a more refined sound with the help of producer Ross Feraro of REC studios. The new tunes featured deep RnB grooves with a focus on melody whilst keeping true to their original sound.

The band has been composing a volley of brand new tunes to unleash on an unsuspecting public. Get down to Foundry616 for a solid night of Funk.
