Broadway's Big Fat Musical Comedy Hit
Ashfield Musical Society is pleased to present their musical for November 2013.



Hairspray delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out and change is in the air!


Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show”. Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?



This wonderful production is only running for 8 performances over 2 weekends at the Concord RSL Club Auditorium.

It's the summer of 1976... it's as hot outside as the fashion, hits and passion are on the dance floor and Jack is about to celebrate a birthday he will never forget in this 'devilish' 70's musical comedy. This highly-acclaimed high-energy musical combines a hilarious script, fantastic characters and an electrifying score of hits from the unforgettable era of glitter, flares and platform shoes. Great 70s songs by artists like The Jackson 5, Gloria Gaynor, KC and the Sunshine Band and the Village People include "Hot Stuff", "YMCA", "I Will Survive", "Boogie Wonderland" “Blame it on the Boogie” and many more…



Working late in a London nightclub – the Disco Inferno - ambitious and talented Jack meets mysterious and irresistible Lady, an associate of the Devil. Dreaming of becoming a famous rock star and making it into the music industry, he agrees to sign a deal with Lady to make his deepest desires come true. Jack soon becomes an international success… but all success comes with a price – including the loss of Jane, his one true love. Things start to heat up and one disaster quickly follows another. These comedy lemmings have swan-dived into the unknown, like ad-lib parachutists, like laughing lunatic base jumpers, freefalling with just their wits, their best one-liners and their craziest comic characters to save them from disaster!

For nearly 30 years audiences have come along to belly laugh at the antics of these brave teams of comics as they either succeed or fail epically!

Every year, wave after wave of teams, scared scriptless and desperate to score big with the judges, play to win their way through the Heats, Semi-finals, and then all the way to the Enmore Theatre for the Grand Final, and the chance to engrave their names on the Theatresports Holy Grail, the Cranston Cup!



Each week they battle it out for the honour of being crowned the funniest, most inventive, most spontaneous and just sheer craziest performers in Australia!

At The Train Shed, you can ride with:

The ride takes you across the bridge over the pond, past "Gnome Knoll", "Trevor" and "Crock's Scrapyard", across the bridge again, down around the "Branch Line", through the tunnel and back up to Wellsworth Station.

There's more than just Train Rides at The Train Shed!


Inside the Thomas Shop, children (and adults who refuse to grow up) can drive the Model Train Layout all by themselves, taking Thomas, Toby, James or Percy on a tour of the Isle of Sodor, making up their own
"Thomas" stories while they play.



When you arrive at The Train Shed, you simply can't miss our Sydney Suburban Double-Decker Carriage - yes, it's a real one! Many parents may remember travelling on carriages like these when they were younger.



The double-pass is for two children and gives each child 4 train rides.
