THE BLUE CAFTAN tells the story of a forbidden love triangle exploring mortality, sexuality and the dying art of traditional handcrafts.
Mina (Lubna Azabal) and her husband Halim (Saleh Bakri) run a small business making and selling bespoke caftans in one of Morocco’s oldest medinas. Halim is a master of his trade, and Mina a canny saleswoman, though their wares don’t come cheap and traditional dress is falling out of favour.
Woven with exquisite care, Maryam Touzani’s Cannes Un Certain Regard winning drama reveals a beautiful love triangle in a small Moroccan town. (Where gay relations are forbidden). Touzani explores a complex marriage with tenderness and grace in a sincere and superbly performed film that unfolds in unexpected and heartening ways.

In this fun workshop, you'll get the chance to sit back and relax with drinks and nibblies as you learn to draw with Oil Pastels from part-time superhero, Glambassador and experienced artist, the Fabulous Wonder Mama. Having published 3 children's books and over 20 years of experience in art and design - Wonder Mama will share some of her best tips and tricks to drawing quality artworks every time!

Get inspired as you learn to draw using oil pastels on black paper and canvas. Wonder Mama will guide you through some simple exercises and then you'll get started on a fun final project.

And you don't have to be a great artist either! It's all about having fun!! So kick back and relax!!

Knowledge required

This is a beginner-friendly class with room for more experienced students to use their skills too.

The charismatic Roymata Holmes brings their show ‘I Am King Queen’ presented as part of Sydney WorldPride Amplified this February!

It follows Roymata’s World Premiere performance which saw him recently perform to roaring crowds, winning Best in Dance Award and 3 Touring Awards for 2023 at the Sydney Fringe Awards Night 2022.

“I cannot wait to share what we’ve been creating for you! We’ve been through a lot the last few years and now it’s time to catch up and celebrate!” – Roymata Holmes

A gripping 45-minute autobiographical performance following his search to find herself, exploring their gender, religious upbringing and cultural ties in Australia, Aotearoa – New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Roymata shows it’s about the journey, not the destination. This coming-of-age extravaganza is a high-energy night of traditional and modern dance, physical theatre, and the quickest Drag transformation you’ve ever seen!

Written and performed by Queer artist Roymata Holmes (he/they). A story written to showcase and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ BIPOC community.
