After a really good (and authentic) time debuting at The Sydney Fringe Festival in September, my new solo standup comedy show, ‘Excuse me, your authentic self is showing’ is back for a monthly run from Jan to March 2026 at Sneaky Possum, Chippendale.

WHAT IS THE SHOW?

A shock neurological diagnosis sends comedian, marketer, actor, comedy promoter and fundraising manager Dane Hiser on a hilarious deep-dive into “big wellness” and self-discovery – getting close(ish) to finally accepting and loving (yuck!) his true-self and maybe... .just maybe... finding purpose. And it only took 47 years.

WHAT IS DANE HISER?

Stepping to the mic for the first time ever in 2008 with a 45 minute set (and another 30 after the break) in a self-produced show at Petersham Bowling Club (yes you read all that right) - Dane is far more confident on stage than he has any right to be.

He’s gigged with comedy icons like The Doug Anthony Allstars, Tony Martin, Peter Helliar, Matt Okine, Fiona O’Loughin, Aaron Chen, Chris Franklin, Tommy Dean, Merrick Watts, Becky Lucas, Cameron James, Mikey Robins, Lizzy Hoo and Stewart Francis (Can).

A powerful, provocative and outrageous new Australian play makes its full season premiere just in time for summer and Sydney Mardi Gras.

The brave and raw ‘backstage’ triangular love story revolves around a self-styled ‘cowboy’ - a man of many secrets who bears pain beneath his showy persona.
Written by legendary Sydney theatre personality Les Solomon, GOD’S COWBOY has its world premiere at Flight Path Theatre in Marrickville from Jan 21 to Feb 21 next year.

The season follows showcase performances in April 2024 and further development in February 2025.
Now it comes to the Sydney stage with a great new creative team and a wild, warm-hearted production at the intimate Flight Path Theatre in Marrickville.

God’s Cowboy focuses on two main characters (a twin brother and sister) who partially narrate the story in flashback, describing their season in a play and the backstage love story with their co-star, the ‘cowboy’ of the title.

There are myriad surprises and secrets revealed. It is bravely honest, at times provocative and outrageous, says playwright Les. “So many young people have their voice in this story. It’s a powder-keg of deep human emotion.”

Directed by Ella Morris, God's Cowboy stars Max Fernandez as "Daniel", the cowboy of the story.
God’s Cowboy is his writing debut and - with his insights from in front and behind the footlights, backstage and front-of-house - it’s a must-see!
